Evert G

Evert is a seasoned professional geoscientist with 38+ years’ experience as a production geologist / petroleum engineer in the oil & gas industry [from 1978 – 2003 with Royal Dutch Shell].

Worldwide experience (e.g. Far East / Middle East / West Africa / South America / Europe) and proven ability to communicate effectively about technical subsurface issues and the commercial implications thereof at senior management level as well as junior technician level.

Currently mainly active in the teaching of petroleum geoscience courses [e.g. worldwide through Schlumberger NExT, as well as at Technical University Delft, Geneva University & German University of Technology – Oman].

In 2013 – 2014 I participated as an external Subject Matter Expert [subsurface] in the technical review of a $500 million/year development drilling portfolio for a major Operator in Indonesia. I was instrumental in improving the bottom-line result of the 2014 drilling campaign by some 15 – 20% relative to the 2013 results. Achieved a similar result in a review of the appraisal and development drilling portfolio of a subsidiary of one of China’s State oil companies.

Independent consultant for subsurface matters [e.g. review of shale gas activities] to the Netherlands Commission for Environmental Assessment (NCEA) [in Dutch: ‘Commissie m.e.r.’ – 2008 – 2016]. Subject Matter Expert reviewer of nomination files for geological sites for UNESCO World Heritage designation.
