Fernando has enjoyed a career alternating between consultancy services and positions as a Human Resources Executive in international companies. He is Dutch, born in Brazil, living in the Netherlands since 2003.

In 2007 he left ABN AMRO after completing 15 years in different HR roles, in Latin America and as Group EVP in Amsterdam, Global Head of Leadership and Learning. He returned once again to consulting and has been providing services to companies in many different countries in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia. He coaches executives, designs and facilitates workshops, and speaks about cross-cultural management, leadership, organization development, talent management, diversity, and how to optimize the Human Resources function in organizations.

His clients include 3i Capital Markets (UK), Atento (Spain), BAA-British Airport Authority, Christie’s (UK), CIB-Commercial International Bank (Egypt), Citibank (UK), Cookson-Vesuvius (Belgium), Danisco (France), EDF-Energie de France, ESA-European Space Agency, IBFD (NL), Laing O’Rourke (UK), Odebrecht (Libya), Oikocredit (NL), Sandia National Laboratories (US), SBM Offshore (Monaco), and Technip (France).

A former member of the ITIM International network for many years, he has been a guest lecturer at business schools such as IMD, Imperial College, Exeter University, Fundação Dom Cabral, ESPM, IESE, IBMEC and Escola de Marketing Industrial.

Fernando is also a former chair of the Supervisory Group of AIESEC International, the world’s largest student exchange organization. He is the author of the books “Take Off Your Glasses” (2012), “Cruzando Culturas” (2013), “The Meaning Tree” (2015), “Bedtime Stories for Corporate Executives” (2015), and “Trust Me” (with Reynold Chandansingh, 2016), in addition to many articles, published throughout the world.

He holds a B.A. in Clinical, Educational and Organisational Psychology, from PUCRGS, Porto Alegre, Brazil. Non-Executive role – Member and Chair of Supervisory Group – AIESEC International – Rotterdam (2004 – 2014). Honorary Medal – Knight of the Order of Labour Merit – Brazilian Labour Justice Supreme Court (2000).
