An experienced manager with roots in commercial, military, national and international Governmental organizations. My roles have covered operational security, operational logistics (land and maritime), auditing, training, talent development, project management, contracting, supply chain management and integrated business planning. In 2010, parallel to my existing job at the time, I helped start a company that delivered leadership programmes across the UK educational spectrum.
Previously I worked for Shell where I held the combined roles of Deputy Company Security Officer, Lead-Auditor and Maritime Security Advisor (Team-lead) and was assigned as lead facilitator during workshops designed to prepare Shell-managers for a new managerial role. Prior to joining Shell I was a commissioned officer in the Royal NL Navy rising to the rank of Commander.
On 01 Apr 2017, I established Antaeus Risk Management. I have so far provided (strategic) advice to security companies, undertaken Security Risk Assessments, written company (policy) documentation, facilitated (travel) risk management workshops and have been selected to train as Crisis Response Manager. I am also an adviser to the Company Security Officers Alliance and a non-executive director of a private security company in Wales.
I hold an MA in defence studies (University of Amsterdam) and a BSC equivalent in maritime business studies (Royal Netherlands Naval College). I have also completed the Advanced Command and Staff Course at the NL Defence Academy and a post-graduate course in International relations at the NL Institute of International relations (“Clingendael”). I am a qualified NLP Practitioner and certified Lead Auditor and Company Security Officer.
I have been a Governor of the Dutch “de Regenboog school” in London and have held various voluntary roles throughout my working life, including treasurer of a botanical garden complex in Den Helder, The Netherlands.
