Over the past 10 years I have been using my extensive experience and networks in the Asian region, together with a solid background in climate change science and consultancy, to deliver a range of support services to both government bodies and private enterprises across a range of industries.
Since 2016, I have worked as Senior Advisor on climate policy at the Viet Nam Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate change (IMHEN) in Hanoi. In this role, I have provided advice on several activities, including: NDC and Paris Agreement implementation; NAMA Design Studies; NAMA institutional arrangements. I have also been supporting research activities in the field of urban climate, urban resilience, and sustainable urban development.
From 2010 until July 2015, I worked as a freelance consultant providing services for both government bodies and the private sector. Among other roles, I worked with GIZ for the Sino – German Leadership Training on Environmental and Climate Issues Project to develop key requirements for programme design and implementation.
From February 2008 until July 2010, I was engaged by GIZ in Beijing and was responsible for establishing and managing a new German CDM Service Unit to support German businesses in the fulfilment of their Kyoto obligations. I have also been heavily involved in the planning and preparation of the first Sino-German Climate Protection Programme to address mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
From 2004 to 2008, I was Senior Advisor on Climate Protection for “ACCA21” in Beijing. In this unique role, I gained in-depth knowledge and practical experience in processes, technologies, and policies relevant to climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as on the setting up and management of international carbon emission reduction projects.
