Peter B

Peter is regarded as one of the most competent and forward thinking HSE professionals from the oil and gas industry. He has a well-deserved reputation for simply “telling it the way it is” enabling some of the world’s largest drilling companies to deliver top tier HSE performance.

During his corporate career as Vice President HSE, he helped three separate companies win industry recognition for outstanding HSE performance five times between 2002 and 2009. More recently, Peter founded Pegasus Risk Management, an independent consultancy that helps organizations better manage their principal operating risks.

Peter has written many ground breaking papers related to HSE management and as far back as 1996, Peter co-authored a paper for Shell International highlighting the pitfalls of using traditional approaches and metrics for managing major operating risks. Not surprisingly, Peter was one of the founding members of the Center for Offshore Safety (COS) – created by the Federal Government in the wake of the Macondo / Deep Water Horizon tragedy and the largest environmental spill in US history.

Peter also serves on the board of delegates for the Robert W. Campbell Award and is active with the National Safety Council.
