After obtaining my MSc in aerospace engineering, Simon has obtained nearly 10 years of experience in the domains of physical asset management and reliability engineering. I have applied the principles of systematic optimization and building an asset management culture in various industries and projects, ranging from technical analysis and improvements to process optimization and implementation.
I have worked for several years as a consultant in maintenance and asset management. Industries I have worked in include public transportation and infrastructure, offshore equipment manufacturing and fleet management and container terminals. The projects I have worked on include criticality and preventive maintenance analysis of capital equipment, implementation of risk management frameworks and delivering a strategic asset management plan compliant with ISO55000.
Currently I am working in the offshore services industry in a team lead role where I am responsible for optimizing the reliability of offshore equipment. My team works with both operations and engineering to implement improvements throughout the organization.
My knowledge and skills include application of principles of relevant international norms, such as the ISO55000 on asset management, various continuous improvemement tools such as root cause analysis and lean principles as well as management and teambuilding skills.
I am driven by delivering sustainable results to an organization, adding economic and business value at all layers of an organization, from the board room down to the shop floor. I believe in implementing practical solutions, backed up by a theoretical framework and validated by data wherever possible.
