Tahar is a Geophysical Engineer with 30 years experience in the 2D/3D, broadline, Q-Land, TZ and marine seismic industry. He has system and field service engineering experience.

He has provided quality control supervision in Seismic Data Acquisition, Instrumentation and Vibrator source, on-site quality control and field processing and HSE supervision for the major groups like; Algerian national oil company (Sonatrach), ExxonMobil, Saudi Aramco, SHELL, BG group, ENI and OMV. Worked about five years in Dallas with Mobil acquisition group in joint ventures with Sonatrach. worked with CGG HPVA and Q-Land WesternGeco methodology proprietaries.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all field operations of Geophysical Contractor are conducted according to Client’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) specifications and industry best standard practice
  • Project management skills, contract administration, operations execution, implementation of client HSE expectations, personnel administration, key stakeholders engagement and alignment to achieve project goals.
  • Responsible for day to day successful and safe execution of the project
  • Oversight of 300 personnel (contractor junior & senior staff and the seismic QC team) involved in all phases of the operation: oversight of ERW/UXO teams, line clearing, survey staff, , instrument, vibe and recording staff, camp safety.
  • Executed leadership decisions on making sure that all available resources, all equipment, personnel, HSE, were aligned with project goals.
  • Responsibilities include verifying all equipment performed as contractually required, personnel were trained for their tasks and jobs, vigilant observation of safety rules, engaging the right people at the right time (PM’s, PGPA, etc.), documenting and keeping Contractor daily, weekly, monthly performance and production stats.
  • Technical VSP geophysicist supporting client Drilling and Completions team, in performing pre-acquisition modelling, internal processing and modelling to parallel contractor’s VSP deliverables to business units.
