Viannet is a proven Technical and Business Leader with extensive and geographically (West Africa, Europe, USA, Canada Deepwater & Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin) diverse experience in exploration, assets development and portfolio management/optimization. He possesses an excellent and solid grounding in his discipline (RE) encompassing broad reservoir engineering and detailed analytical skillset (modelling/simulation, development planning, and unconventional reservoirs).
He is currently focussed on building and delivering a new Global Exploration strategy and tactics for business going forward as well as replenishing portfolio through balancing exposure to various basins (unconventionals, conventional, deep water and onshore). Viannet is a strategic thinker with a long term vision and passion on the oil & gas industry.
Viannet’s particular interests include: Pressure Transient Analysis (PTA), conventional (onshore/offshore) developments, unconventional gas/oil reservoirs (tight gas/shale gas and LRS) production data analysis, Reservoir Simulation, Field Development Planning/Business Planning, Exploration, Petroleum Economics, Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) modelling & optimization, scenario modelling, uncertainties management, coaching and mentoring.
Education and Experience:
- Viannet has a BSc. (Hons) in Mathematics with Theoretical Physics from University College London, a MPhil and a D.I.C in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College, London.
- He began his career with Royal Dutch Shell in 1998 as a Pressure Transient Analysis (PTA) Postgraduate Research fellow in Rijswijk, The Netherlands. He then worked for Shell in Gabon, The Netherlands and Nigeria
- After a brief spell with Total EP Canada Ltd, re-joined Shell Canada Energy in April 2009. He was Regional Discipline Advisor (Reservoir Engineering) in UG (Unconventional Gas) and LTO (Light Tight Oil) Expertise Team in Shell-Upstream America Onshore. He is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for both PTA/RTA and UCG/LTO Reservoir Engineering.
- Effective October 2012, Viannet took up the Tioga/Marcellus Shale Field Development manager in Pittsburgh, PA (USA). In June 2013, he transferred to Gabon as Assets Development Director in Gabon Oil Company, Libreville.
- On February 2015, Viannet joined Nexen Energy ULC in Calgary as Senior Manager Strategic Planning & Portfolio.
