Barbara is an Organization and Talent Development Consultant, with over 30 years experience in the corporate and private world – 21 of which was in the Oil and Gas Industry, with the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited. She is a graduate of Chemistry from the University of Lagos and also has a Masters in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK; and a Public Relations Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, UK.
With a variety of skills, she worked as a Journalist with the Vanguard Newspapers, Lagos, Nigeria before joining Shell Nigeria as an Environmentalist and took early retirement as the Organization Effectiveness and Change Manager for Shell Africa, after different roles in Nigeria and the UK.
One of her most interesting roles was the Transformation Manager, where the key challenge was helping the leadership team to drive and move the change programme of the company forward. This role involved extensive networking with the Directors, other senior leaders in the company and around the Shell Group.
Her extensive experience is fully utilized in the areas of: Trainer/Talent Development Consultant; Design & Facilitate HRD programs and Learning solutions in “soft skills” tailored to clients’ needs; Organization Effectiveness and Development Consultant: ODA; Restructuring; Change Management; Strategic Alignment Facilitator, Team building interventions; Professional coaching: career transitions, executive, transformational & personal development; Recruitment and selection based on client’s needs.
She is a Personal Accountability and Effectiveness thought leader and has published two books.
